In this section, i believe that i am slowly making my way towards Advanced Journeyman. Right now i think i’m sitting right in the middle of “Journeyman”. I think this because as my evidence shows i do challenge, complicate, and even extend the ideas of Alexander, Gee, and Brandt. I do feel as though i can go even further in challenging some of their ideas. Some of the quotes i pulled from these authors made it easy for me to “extend” their ideas, but other quotes i used i felt like it was harder for me to extend or to complicate them. The reason i believe i’m headed towards advanced journeyman is because in my paper, Contextualizing of evidence IS consistently present (as shown in my evidence). The reason i believe i’m not there yet is because i don’t do a good job of like i said extending, confirming, challenging, and complicating the ideas. That is the thing i think i need to work on the most in this section. In ENG 122 with Cripps, we discussed where i was at in this section and at the end of the semester i left off just getting into Journeyman so that

This section is in my view the section i can improve the most in. Last semester in ENG 122 this Cripps i thought the same thing too. I think i am towards the end of the Apprentice and headed towards Journeyman. The reason i think this is because as my evidence shows, i dont annotate passages too much. If i do annotate, i am mostly focusing on understanding the text or defining concepts. I dont EXTEND the ideas or draw many relationships. Just like Apprentice says, my annotations show little to no work and the quantity of my annotations are very minimal. The reason i think im slowly moving towards Journeyman is because as my evidence shows, i am working towards making connections to other texts and also i have little proof of me questioning and challenging some of the passages. I’m not at journeyman yet but i do believe i am close.

In this section, i think i am pretty solid in the journeyman stage. The reasoning behind that is because, like my evidence shows the new additions i made to my paper were stronger in explanation and also i was improving my paper using signal phrases to strengthen my overall paper. Another thing was with my introduction. I didnt make too many changes to this part of my paper but the changes i did make helped the reader get more of an idea of what i was going to be talking about, and gave the reader a better understanding of the sources and the authors i was going to be mentioning. Honestly i do think im some what close to reaching Advanced Journeyman in this section. Some of the stuff i need to do and show to reach this level includes; adding more lengthy paragraphs, DEVELOP my ideas more to strengthen my overall paper, and lastly add new/different evidence that again will strengthen my overall paper for the reader. Looking back at last semester with Cripps, in this section i was just getting to Journeyman, so i do feel like i have made steps in the right direction, but still have a ways to go to reach the next level (Advanced Journeyman).
